The First Wave

I showed up at the institute two days after my return from the Academy. Kira gave me exactly two days to sprawl on the couch in my socks and stare at the ceiling. On the third she said: “Schrödinger Junior has tried to lie on your face twice. Go to work before the cat decides you’re dead.”
